OpenScape Office V3 Applications on Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server

Test Environment and Preconditions

•   Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Server, Standard Edition (64 bit)

•   Windows “Desktop Experience Feature” installed (for fax viewer and audio)

•   Java Runtime must be installed for myPortal / myAttendant / myReports application; Test is done with current

  version JRE 1.6.0_32 32-Bit

•   Microsoft Outlook 2010 SP1 32 or 64 bit

•   Actual Microsoft Windows/Office Updates and Service Packs installed.

•   OpenScape Office MX (OSO MX), V3R3.0.0

•   Memory and performance values determined on an OSO MX, V3R3.0.0

  Test Conclusions and Restrictions

  The OSO MX/LX V3 clients can be used on Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server. The major hints and restrictions are:

  •   It is strongly recommended to use 32 Bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) instead 64 Bit JRE to save memory resources on server.

  •   Please note that myAgent is currently not generally released for Remote Desktop Server installations. A customer project specific evaluation and release is required.

  •   Data Execution Prevention (DEP) must be disabled on Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Server. This setting is called “Turn on DEP for essential programs and services only”. Otherwise all OSO client executable files must be added to DEP exception list.
