Microsoft is currently offering its Office 365 customers the opportunity to try out a new Outlook, see screenshot:
With this new Outlook, which can currently be tested by end users on a voluntary basis, Microsoft is ending support for the COM interface that has been used as the standard for many years.
This inevitably means that many plugins and surrounding functions no longer work as before. With OpenScape Business this leads to some restrictions:
- myPortal for Outlook: no longer usable, i.e. no ribbon, no access to contacts, no function bars such as favorites
- myPortal for Desktop: can still be used, but without access to Outlook contacts
- myContacts: can no longer be used, the import of Outlook contacts is no longer possible
Unify is working on alternative solutions to give you the best possible use of the discontinued interface under the given circumstances.
